Astrology

During are English time, we kind of got to the topic about our horoscope.. and yes.. I just thought of checking it out and see what's in store.. XD (We really didn't have any class.. since Teacher Aida wasn't around)

Aries

Aries is an astrological sign that is associated with the constellation Aries. Under the tropical zodiac, Aries is occupied by the Sun from about March 21 to April 19 (depending on the exact year) and is associated with the Spring Equinox. Aries is also associated with the Greco-Roman god Ares/Mars.

Taurus

Taurus is an astrological sign, which is associated with the constellation of the same name. Under the tropical zodiac, Taurus is occupied by the Sun from April 20 to May 20, and under the sidereal zodiac, it is currently from May 14 to June 19. The opposite sign to Taurus is Scorpio and the two signs are widely considered to be the most sexually responsive of all zodiacal members.

Taurus is the second sign of the Zodiac and associated with material pleasure. Individuals born under this sign are thought to have a calm, practical, reliable, loyal, affectionate, sensuous, ambitious, and determined character, but one which is also prone to hedonism, laziness, inflexibility, jealousy, and antipathy. In terms of anatomy, Taurus is said to rule the vocal chords, tonsils, palate, throat, neck, ears, and lower jaw. Taurus is traditionally thought to be ruled by the planet Venus. However, in more recent years a few astrologers have come to believe that the true planet which governs Taurus is one named Pan-Horus, first discovered during the 1970s. Some astrologers have also speculated that the dwarf planet 1 Ceres is the true ruler of Taurus. But since it has never been stated that either 1 Ceres or Pan-Horus are actually planets the vast majority of astrologers still consider Venus to be the planetary ruler of the Sign of Taurus, as Venus has a much more archetypical representation in Taurus than the other Venus-ruled sign, Libra.

In mythology Taurus is often associated with the Greek myth of the bull-form taken by Zeus in order to win Europa, as well as the mythological figure of Midas, King of Phrygia, from the Greek myth of the Midas Touch. Taurus is also associated with the Greco-Roman goddess Aphrodite/Venus and sometimes also the goddesses Hera/Juno, Ishtar, Isis, Freyja, and Frigg and the gods Pan, Dionysus/Bacchus, Xolotl, and Quetzalcoatl.

Gemini

Gemini is an astrological sign, which is associated with the constellation Gemini. Under the tropical zodiac, Gemini is occupied by the Sun from May 21 to June 20, and under the sidereal zodiac, it is currently from June 20 to July 20. The sign opposite to Gemini is Sagittarius.

Gemini is the third sign of the Zodiac and associated with youth and versatility. Individuals born under this sign are thought to have a sociable, fun-loving, versatile, communicative, liberal and friendly character but one which is also prone to moodiness, inconsistency, superficiality, restlessness and laziness. Among medieval astrologers, Gemini was thought of as a fortunate sign, and its subjects were considered to possess the qualities intense devotion, genius, largeness of mind, goodness, and liberality.

Gemini is associated with the Greek myth of Castor (or Kastor) and Pollux and with the Greco-Roman god Hermes/Mercury and sometimes also the gods Loki, Asklepios/Aesculapius, and Veles and the goddesses Eris/Discordia, Hebe, and Ate.

Cancer

Cancer is an astrological sign, which is associated with the constellation Cancer. Under the tropical zodiac, Cancer is occupied by the Sun from June 21 to July 22 and under the sidereal zodiac, it is currently from July 21 to August 9. The sign opposite to Cancer is Capricorn.

Cancer is the fourth sign of the Zodiac and associated with family and domesticity. Leo

Leo is an astrological sign, which is associated with the constellation Leo. Under the tropical zodiac, Leo is occupied by the Sun from July 23 to August 22, and under the sidereal zodiac, it is currently from August 17 to September 16. The opposite sign to Leo is Aquarius (astrology).

Leo is the fifth sign of the Zodiac and is associated with creativity and drama. Virgo is an astrological sign, which is associated with the constellation Virgo. Under the tropical zodiac, Virgo is occupied by the Sun from August 23 to September 22, and under the sidereal zodiac, it is currently from September 17 to October 17. The opposite sign to Virgo is Pisces.

Virgo is the sixth sign of the Zodiac and associated with purity and service. However, during the late nineteenth-century and early twentieth-century it was speculated in certain astrological circles that the planet Vulcan, thought to be located near Mercury, was the true planetary ruler of Virgo. Today, some astrologers believe that the dwarf planets Sedna and Eris are or will be the planetary rulers/co-rulers of Virgo. Many astrologers who study the powerful asteroid Chiron, known as "the wounded healer", believe it has the best claim upon the rulership of Virgo. Currently, the vast majority of astrologers still think of Mercury as the planetary ruler of this sign.

According to one interpretation, the Virgo constellation depicts Astraea, the virgin daughter of the god Zeus and the goddess Themis. Astraea was known as the goddess of justice, and was identified as this constellation due to the presence of the scales of justice (Libra) nearby, and supposedly ruled the world with her wise ways until mankind became so callous she returned to skies, disgusted.

In mythology Virgo is often associated with the mythological figure of Omphale, Queen of Lydia, from the myth of Heracles. Virgo is also associated with the Greco-Roman god Hermes/Mercury and sometimes the goddesses Athena/Minerva, Demeter/Ceres, Astraea, Eris/Discordia, Ate and Hestia/Vesta and the gods Hephaestus/Vulcan, Loki, Asklepios/Aesculapius and Veles.

Libra

Libra is an astrological sign, which is associated with the constellation Libra. Under the tropical zodiac, Libra is occupied by the Sun from September 23 to October 22, and under the sidereal zodiac, it ends on November 15. The opposite sign to Libra is Aries.

Sagittarius

Sagittarius is an astrological sign, which is associated with the constellation Sagittarius. The opposite sign to Sagittarius is Gemini.

Aquarius

Aquarius is an astrological sign, which is associated with the constellation Aquarius. Under the tropical zodiac, Aquarius is occupied by the Sun from January 20 to February 19, and under the sidereal zodiac, it is currently from February 13 to March 14.

In some cosmologies, Aquarius is associated with the classical element Air, and thus called an Air Sign (with Libra and Gemini). It is also one of the four Fixed signs (along with Leo, Scorpio, and Taurus). Its polar opposite is Leo. Pisces is from Aphrodite and her son turning themselves into fish so they could escape Typhon.

It is notable that early believers in Christianity often used the symbol of Pisces (two fish swimming in opposing directions) in order to secretly identify themselves.
